    Editor Nate Cali Joins Nomad Editing

    Prior to Nomad, Nate had worked at both Union Editorial as well as Optimus, where he progressed quickly from an assistant editor to a partner in the company.

    “Our creative culture has always been a huge part of Nomad’s brand. When we met Nate, we spoke about how he approaches work. That, combined with his talent and the range of his skill, told us immediately felt he was a perfect fit,” says partner Glenn Martin.

    While at the Los Angeles Film School, Nate studied under Danford B. Greene, who cut “Blazing Saddles.” “My mother was a stand-up comedian,” reveals Nate, “I always knew I wanted to cut comedy. Danford taught me how to make people laugh by highlighting reactions instead of actions.”

    Nomad’s New York Team Continues Expansion This Fall; Welcomes New Editor/Partner Amanda Moreau

    The New York office of the Nomad Editing Company continues its expansion this fall with the signing of new Editor/Partner Amanda Moreau to the team. Moreau helped launch the New York office of Beast, where she gained 10 years of experience as a Senior Editor. She has worked with leading brands including Reebok, Garnier, Duke Energy, IKEA and Champs. However, it was at Hunter College/CUNY under Roy DeCarava, where her passion for editing was first kindled. 

     Moreau, an avid music/record collector, fell in love with art movies as a kid and dreamed of becoming a filmmaker. Collaborative by nature, she is a storyteller and loves the challenge of navigating in and out of a narrative. “Finding the right creative solution is like putting together a large puzzle with many pieces. My editing style is almost a hybrid. I love infusing my emotional sensibility with punctuated, hard-hitting cuts,” she claims.

    Nomad’s reputation and scale were deciding factors for Moreau. “I joined Nomad because ultimately I want to belong to a smaller, artistic community with a strong focus on the creative culture. This type of tight-knit community is one of the most valuable things you can have in an edit house. 

  • Nomad Welcomes Editors/Partners Jim Ulbrich & Adam Schwartz to New York Team

    Nomad Editing Company’s New York office continues to expand its roster and change the landscape of the New York post production market with the addition of Editor/Partners Jim Ulbrich and Adam Schwartz. They follow EP/Partner Jennifer Lederman and AICE Award-winning Editor/Partner Jai Shukla, who joined the company earlier this year.

    Jim Ulbrich comes to Nomad following a path working at some of New York’s best editorial shops. Since joining Nomad, Ulbrich has worked on projects for Saatchi/NY and Toyota with Droga5.  He is now finishing a campaign with Grey. Jim collaborates on many projects with Director Matt Smukler from Community Films. (Jim Ulbrich reel: https://reel.io/__71aZl )

    Ulbrich began his career at Berlin Cameron and then moved to 89 Edit where he was selected one of the “Editors to Watch” by “Creativity” Magazine. He then moved to Mad River and then Beast where he became a Partner in the company. Jim has won multiple awards including Cannes Lions and Clios. He has edited much-lauded campaigns for AT&T, Cheerios, Hanes, and Coke.

    Editor Adam Schwartz has followed a similar career trajectory as Ulbrich. His client list includes blue chip brands such as Google, HP, Verizon, Reebok, and Nike. Schwartz has worked with a who’s who list of Directors including Janusz Kaminski, Errol Morris, Jared Hess, and Wes Anderson.  He’s worked on several projects since joining Nomad, and is now editing with BBDO/NY.     Lederman says she knows she scored a coup with Ulbrich and Schwartz. “If you were to look at my spreadsheet of ‘Editors I Want to Work With’ -- yes, I have one of those -- Jim and Adam’s names are prominently displayed on that list.”

    New York & Los Angeles – (April 5, 2016) – Right on the heels of adding new EP/Partner Jennifer Lederman to lead the New York office, Nomad is proud to announce the hiring of Editor Jai Shukla to its roster of talents and welcome him to the company as a Partner. Over the years, Shukla has garnered considerable trust and respect in the industry. During his 9 years at Beast NY, Shukla climbed the ranks to become one of the shop's busiest editors. His work has been showcased at Cannes and multiple award shows, recently wining an AICE award. Jai’s client list includes such international brands as IBM, Adidas, Mercedes, and Corona to name a few.

    “Jai is the type of Editor who, in addition to cutting what you need, will also give you nine other versions you never thought to ask for,” says Lederman. “When you combine that with a clear understanding of the business and a true appreciation of every client who walks through his door, it’s an EP’s dream and the perfect Partner.   • Nomad Welcomes New EP Jennifer Lederman As Company Partner To Lead New York Office

    Nomad Editing Company (www.nomadedit.com)  has welcomed Executive Producer and newest company Partner Jennifer Lederman to lead and expand the New York office. Lederman joins Nomad from BlueRock, where she served as Vice President/Managing Director. She brings with her agency experience at FCB and J. Walter Thompson, as well a tenure at well-known post production company, Red Car.

    Lederman is well-known in the creative editorial community as an EP who has a long range vision and gets the job done. She began as a Business Manager working on national accounts at two of New York’s most prestigious ad agencies – FCB and J. Walter Thompson. Her next move brought her to the postproduction side of the business where she rose steadily through the managerial ranks of Red Car to become National Managing Director and oversaw five offices nationwide.  During her time at Red Car, Jennifer created a successful Design & VFX Division. In 2010, Jennifer joined BlueRock as Vice President/Managing Director where she managed teams working on national and international campaigns for a variety of brands. Jennifer is a Board Member of AICE, a past member of NYWIFT, and an avid kick boxer.

    “Becoming part of the Nomad team was an incredibly easy and exciting decision,” concludes Lederman. “The company’s reputation and their work has inspired me throughout my career. I’m actually star-struck over the Editors and reels I now represent.
